轉任退輔會所屬的欣雲天然氣公司總經理、國軍前總督察長夏復華中將，被爆長官勸酒導致飲酒過量，返回宿舍時摔倒在地，隔日才被人發現送醫，經過數天急救後，仍於23日上午不治，享壽62歲。
《蘋果日報》報導，有爆料者表示，擔任欣林董事長的陳添勝，17日在南投草屯某間高級餐廳宴客，席間以軍方學長要求學弟的方式，要夏復華喝酒，在長官力勸之下，夏復華便乾下一杯又一杯的杜康，導致飲酒過量。席畢，夏復華搭車返回位於雲林斗六的宿舍，並在浴室摔倒，不醒人事。
隔日，由於夏復華沒去上班，公司派人去宿舍找他，才發現夏復華一人倒在地上，趕緊叫救護車將他送往台大雲林斗六分院急救，之後轉往台中總醫院，不過仍於23日上午急救無效，宣布死亡，享壽62歲。
針對夏復華飲酒過量往生一事，退輔會目前不願正面回應，僅說對夏復華往生相當不捨。

民進黨立委邱議瑩2012年參選立委期間，發現自己罹患卵巢癌，歷時5年抗癌成功，她將抗癌經驗撰寫成書，今(6)日下午舉辦「生命的溫暖戰歌」新書發表會，和社會大眾分享心路歷程。包括行政院長賴清德、前行政院長蘇貞昌、前行政院長林全、立法院正副院長蘇嘉全和蔡其昌、民進黨團總召柯建銘、及立委蕭美琴等人到場祝賀。
蘇嘉全致詞時表示，他與邱議瑩一家認識非常久，特別是邱的父親邱茂男，所以在邱議瑩非常小的時候，就一路看她長大，也看著她經歷這麼多的過程。
蘇嘉全說，他常覺得從政是一個需要大量付出的工作，政治人物常常把國家、社會、人民的事情，當作眼中最重要的事情優先處理，但是往往卻忽略自己的身體健康，然而再炙熱明亮的燈火，也可能有枯竭的一天，所以每一個人，都可能會遭遇像邱議瑩所遇到的挑戰，而邱勇敢面對的態度，就非常值得學習。
林全則說，一個人罹患癌症又戰勝癌症，是相當令人振奮的事情，他父親曾經罹癌，所以非常能夠了解對家庭的衝擊，而邱在書中提到在化療過程中，面對很多衝擊及知識，很值得跟癌友分享。
賴清德指出，他當醫生時最常遇到家屬病後不希望讓親友知道，邱議瑩勇敢的態度非常罕見，在新婚競選當下得知罹癌病情，但是還是勇敢參選，她生命的勇氣可以面對影響，譜出溫暖戰歌，他向邱議瑩表達敬意，透過她的故事，成為一個燈塔，讓同樣遭遇困難的人可以做為借鏡。
邱議瑩表示，今天內心很激動，這本書籌備近一年的時間，因爲媒體形象，很多人忘了她曾是癌症病人。她說，抗癌過程很辛苦，但她很感謝陪她一路走來的親友，給予鼓勵陪伴，而請四位院長來不是好大喜功，而是這些人在她生命中都非常重要。
邱議瑩表示，其實她都羞於啟齒不孕這件事，但她願意把小愛化成大愛，愛所有民眾，也希望讓大家知道罹癌不可怕，用正向樂觀心情看待，這一本不是政治書，希望和更多人分享愛這件事。她並承諾，將書版稅全數捐給癌症希望基金會，希望能幫助更多癌友度過難關。
